Pricing
Clear pricing before the work begins
For medical writing. Reference lists are excluded from the word count. A 4,000-word manuscript would therefore be approximately €4,000.
Proofreading
€0.05 per word when a final proofread is requested as part of a larger writing or editing project.
Phone or video consultation
The initial pre-project discussion is free. Additional calls or meetings are charged €85/hour pro rata. In-person meetings also incur agreed travel and related expenses.

I am Thomas Solomon, PhD—a former academic researcher and current freelance medical writer and data scientist. My background spans clinical research, metabolism, biochemistry, nutrition, exercise science, evidence synthesis, statistical analysis, and scientific publishing.
I have authored or co-authored more than 90 PubMed-indexed papers and worked across cardiometabolic disease, cancer, immunology, inflammation, neurological disease, reproductive health, and nutrition-related research.

Yes. If the analyses, tables, figures, methods, and relevant background material are available, I can develop the manuscript structure and draft the scientific text.
Can you work from an existing manuscript draft?
Yes. If substantial rewriting is required, the work can be scoped as medical writing; lighter structural or language-focused work may fit the scientific editing service better.
Do you write clinical trial protocols and ethics documents?
Yes. Protocol and ethics-document writing is now included within my broader medical writing service rather than offered as a separate service.
Do you write conference abstracts and responses to reviewers?
Yes. I can write or revise conference abstracts and prepare point-by-point reviewer responses alongside the corresponding manuscript changes.
Can you adapt the manuscript to a target journal?
Yes. The scope can include journal-specific structure, word limits, formatting, reporting requirements, and other relevant author instructions.
Do you offer proofreading?
Yes, but only as a final-stage add-on to a larger writing or editing project. The proofreading rate is €0.05 per word.
What happens if we need additional calls or meetings?
The initial pre-project discussion is free. Additional phone or video discussions are charged at €85 per hour pro rata. In-person meetings may also include agreed travel and related expenses.
Will you request authorship?
Only where my contribution meets the relevant ICMJE authorship criteria, including substantial intellectual contribution, approval of the final version, and accountability for the work.
