How it works

Transparent scientific conversion

1

Choose a measurement

Search for an analyte, physiological measurement, or general scientific unit.

2

Enter your value

The converter only offers valid units and requests additional information when a conversion depends on context.

3

Inspect the calculation

Open Formula & details to see the method, equation, constants, calculation, and source.

Private by design

Your research values stay in your browser

Conversions are performed locally using JavaScript. This prototype does not send values to Blazon Scientific for calculation.

Scientific transparency

Not every laboratory conversion is the same

Some conversions are exact dimensional transformations, some require molecular mass, some use standardized clinical relationships, and some should not be offered at all. The tool makes that distinction explicit.

Sources & methodology

Built around authoritative scientific standards

The converter distinguishes between exact dimensional conversions, molecular-mass conversions, standardized equations, and conventional laboratory relationships. Specialist relationships are included only when their scientific basis can be stated clearly.

BIPM SI Brochure

The authoritative description of the International System of Units (SI), used as the primary basis for SI units and prefixes.

NIST Guide to the SI

Guidance on SI usage, symbols, and recognized conversion factors for scientific and technical work.

CIAAW atomic weights

Standard atomic weights used where elemental mass-to-molar conversions require an atomic mass.

PubChem

Authoritative compound records used to verify molecular identities and molecular masses for analyte-specific conversions.

CDC NHANES laboratory documentation

Used to cross-check conventional laboratory conversion relationships such as triglycerides where a single molecular mass is not appropriate.

FAQ

Research Unit Converter FAQs

Does this tool upload my laboratory or research values?

No. Conversion calculations in this prototype run locally in your browser. Your entered values are not sent to Blazon Scientific for calculation.

Why do some conversions require an analyte?

Mass concentration and molar concentration are only directly related when the molecular identity is known. For example, glucose and creatinine have different molar masses, so they require different conversion relationships.

Why are some laboratory conversions described as conventional?

Some measurements, such as triglycerides, represent mixtures rather than one uniquely defined molecule. In these cases the tool uses a validated laboratory conversion relationship instead of pretending there is a single molecular mass.

Does the converter interpret whether a laboratory result is normal?

No. It performs mathematical conversions only and does not interpret laboratory results, diagnose conditions, or provide medical advice.

Will bulk CSV and Excel conversion be supported?

Yes. The planned workflow will allow researchers to paste or import tabular data, select a column, convert it locally in the browser, and export the converted dataset.

For research and educational use. The Research Unit Converter performs mathematical unit conversions. It does not interpret laboratory results, diagnose medical conditions, or provide medical advice.
