Plot Data Extractor Pro is a browser-based scientific plot-extraction tool provided by Blazon Scientific. It is designed so that the scientific material you analyse remains on your device during the extraction workflow.

Research PDFs

When you choose a research PDF, Plot Data Extractor Pro opens and renders the file locally in your browser using a locally bundled copy of PDF.js. The source PDF is not uploaded to Blazon Scientific or sent to a third-party PDF-processing service as part of the extraction workflow.

Scientific data and extraction records

Calibration points, plot-marker positions, extracted values, study identifiers, figure and panel information, group or time-point labels, sample-size information, notes and evidence-table records are handled locally in the browser while you work.

Plot Data Extractor Pro does not send the contents of these scientific extraction records to Blazon Scientific as part of the extraction workflow.

Saved project files

If you choose Save project, Plot Data Extractor Pro downloads a local .pdeproject file to your device. The project file may contain project structure, source-file names, calibration information, marker positions, extracted records, study and figure metadata, and notes. It does not contain the source research PDF itself.

You control where downloaded project and CSV files are stored and whether you later reopen, move or share them.

CSV exports

Analysis CSV and audit CSV files are created locally in your browser and are downloaded only when you choose to export them. Blazon Scientific does not receive or retain these exported scientific datasets as part of the normal extraction workflow.

Browser storage used for licensing

Plot Data Extractor Pro creates a random browser-installation identifier so that a licence can be limited to the permitted number of browser/device installations. The identifier is randomly generated and is not intended to be a hardware fingerprint.

The browser may also store a signed offline-grace token so that an activated licence can continue to work temporarily if the licence service is unavailable.

If Remember this licence on this browser is selected, the licence key is stored in that browser’s local storage. If it is not selected, the licence key is stored only for the current browser session.

Licence activation, device management and entitlement records

Licence activation, validation, device management and deactivation require communication with the Blazon Scientific website. Licence requests may include the Plot Data Extractor Pro product identifier, licence key, random installation identifier and entitlement information required to verify access. Research PDFs and extracted scientific values are not included in these requests.

Server-side entitlement records may include licence type, licence status, activation and expiry dates, random installation identifiers, and the Stripe customer, checkout, payment or subscription references needed to administer the purchased licence.

Current one-user licences can be activated on up to three browser/device installations. Registered installations can be viewed and deactivated from the licence controls.

Payments

Payments are processed using Stripe Managed Payments. Payment-card details are entered into Stripe’s checkout environment and are not stored by Plot Data Extractor Pro.

Blazon Scientific may receive and retain payment, customer and transaction references required to issue and administer licences, process subscription renewals, handle refunds, provide support, and maintain accounting or transaction records where required.

Scientific PDFs and extracted scientific datasets are not sent to Stripe as part of payment processing.

Licence delivery

After a successful purchase, the Stripe checkout session is verified server-side before the corresponding Plot Data Extractor Pro licence is delivered. The licence key is made available on the post-checkout return page and is also sent to the email address supplied during Stripe checkout. Blazon Scientific therefore processes that checkout email address for the purpose of delivering and supporting the purchased licence.

Sending the licence by email does not upload or expose your research PDF, extracted values, project file or scientific dataset. Licence-delivery and entitlement records are kept separate from the browser-based scientific extraction workflow.

Server logs and security

As with normal website use, the Blazon Scientific hosting platform may generate technical web-server, security and error logs. These logs are separate from the browser-based scientific extraction workflow and are used for website operation, troubleshooting and security.

Third-party services

PDF.js is packaged locally with Plot Data Extractor Pro and is not loaded from a third-party content-delivery network when the tool runs. Stripe is used for payment processing. Normal Blazon Scientific website services may also operate according to the site’s general privacy policy.

Your choices

• You decide which research PDFs to open.
• You decide whether to save a .pdeproject file.
• You decide whether to export analysis or audit CSV files.
• You can choose whether the browser remembers the licence key.
• You can deactivate browser/device installations from the licence controls.

Relationship to the free Chrome extension

Plot Data Extractor Pro is separate from the free Plot Data Extractor Chrome extension. The extension has its own privacy policy because it uses Chrome-specific permissions and a different workflow.

Changes to this privacy information

If a future version changes how Plot Data Extractor Pro handles scientific data, licence information or payments, this page will be updated before or alongside that change.
